I've never really liked About pages.

There's something oddly uncomfortable about putting yourself on display and trying to summarize who you are in a few paragraphs. Maybe it's because I've never been the loudest person in the room. I've always been the one standing quietly in the corner, watching, listening, noticing.

I suppose that's where my love for photography began.

I've always been fascinated by moments — the fleeting, ordinary, beautiful moments that so often pass by unnoticed. A laugh shared between friends. A hand reaching for another. The way sunlight spills across a room for only a few seconds before disappearing again.

Photography became my way of preserving those moments. Of capturing what I saw and sharing it with others.

Every image is a piece of art, but more than that, it's a perspective. A story told through my eyes.

People often assume that being quiet or reserved is a disadvantage, especially in a profession built around people. I respectfully disagree.

Being observant teaches you how to be present. It teaches you how to listen. It teaches you to notice the small things that others may overlook. As a photographer, that has become one of my greatest strengths.

It allows me to capture your memories as they truly are — not staged, not forced, and not how they "should" look. Just honest moments, genuine emotion, and the people you love most.

Simple. Authentic. Timeless.

That's the standard I hold myself to.

Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing my clients experience their photographs for the first time. Watching someone laugh, cry, or simply smile as they relive a moment they never want to forget is the reason I do what I do.

My purpose is simple: to preserve the moments that matter most, so you can hold onto them long after they've passed.

But enough of the serious stuff — if the purpose of an About page is for you to get to know me, I suppose I should tell you a little about myself.

Hi There!

I'm Jeanette.

I'm a woman in my late twenties, married to the most supportive husband I could ever ask for, and proud mom to a fluffy little "honde-kind" who is equal parts chaos and joy.

I have a lot of what my family lovingly refers to as "granny hobbies." You'll usually find me reading, crocheting, gardening, birdwatching, or getting into bed at a completely reasonable hour. According to my sister, I'm secretly eighty years old!

Music-wise, Noah Kahan is responsible for approximately 90% of my Spotify listening history. The remaining 10% is reserved for early 2000s emo rock when life gets a little dramatic.

I have an impressive talent for convincing myself that true crime documentaries are educational because they're teaching me survival skills. I also firmly believe Grey's Anatomy should count as a personality trait at this point.

I genuinely enjoy cooking... provided I'm not tired. If I am tired, cereal becomes a perfectly acceptable dinner option.

I have an unfortunate sweet tooth that seems to become significantly stronger after sunset.

And while I promise to arrive looking professional when we meet, please know that most editing days involve sweatpants, messy buns, and enough coffee to power a small village!

Most importantly, I'm an incredibly empathetic person. There is a very real possibility that I will shed a tear alongside your family when you walk down the aisle, hold your newborn for the first time, or celebrate one of life's milestone moments. Consider yourself warned.

But in all seriousness...

I am deeply grateful and feel so blessed to be doing what I love for a living.

Every client, every session, every photograph, and every opportunity is a gift that I do not take for granted.

My faith is the foundation of everything I do.

I trust God for wisdom, provision, favour, protection, and guidance in every season. This business was built with prayer, sustained by grace, and entrusted to Him completely.

My goal has never been simply to create beautiful photographs. It has always been to serve people well, pursue excellence in everything I do, and honour God through my work.

The words that guide both my life and my business are found in Proverbs 16:3:

"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans."

My prayer is that every interaction, every image, and every memory I preserve would bring joy to the people I serve and glory to the One who made it all possible.

So whether you're celebrating a wedding, welcoming a new baby, documenting your family, or simply wanting to freeze this season of life for a little longer, I would be honoured to tell your story.
